TGIW (Thank God it's Wednesday)

Today is my day off! I LOVE having Wednesdays off. For one thing, I have no excuse not to get a good workout in. Today I went to PiYo and a Cycle intro class. PiYo has been really good for me because it really works both my butt and hips, which I need to strengthen to make sure my ITBS doesn't come back. In Cycle intro, we basically just learned how to set up our bikes and then rode for about 10-15 minutes. I still feel like I got some decent cardio time out of it. I need to work some cross-training into my schedule too, so we'll see how I like this spinning thing!

Another reason I like having Wednesdays off is because I feel like I get SO MUCH done. I wish I could spend the day with Ben, but he has a normal schedule and has to work (today is an especially long day for him). At least we get to spend the majority of our night together, rather than just going to bed when I get home like the other nights of the week. And, the honest truth is that I get way more done around the house when he isn't around. Plus I can catch up on my tv shows that he hates to watch (i.e., Glee) and not feel bad about it :)

After my workout, I was really craving a protein smoothie from Inta Juice, which is where Ben and I usually go after our workouts on Saturday. It's kinda pricey though, so I feel bad going more than once a week. So instead, I just made do with what I had:

1. Frozen Market Pantry mixed berries
2. EAS Lean 15 protein powder
3. Milk
4. Chobani strawberry Greek yogurt

I didn't really measure anything, I just threw it all in there and hoped for the best. It actually turned out to be quite tasty!

I got a great deal on some workout shirts at Target- thanks Rachael! They were on sale for $9 a piece, so I bought three different colors.

I also found out that the Starbucks in Target serves peppermint mochas year-round (BEST NEWS EVER)! So, of course, I had to treat myself to one!

Yesterday, my roommate from last year sent me some info about the 2012 Race for Research. The race is organized by the Physical Therapy program at Mayo, and the proceeds benefit PT research. I haven't decided whether I'm doing the 5K or 10K, but it is definitely going on my list of races to run!
